. Primary Recommendation: Dry Clean Only
Embroidery & Embellishments: Because of the heavy neck handwork, sequence, and embroidery, Dry Cleaning is strictly recommended for the first few washes to preserve the detail, color, and fabric shape.
Chanderi / Silk Blend: Water can shrink fine Chanderi weaves or dull its natural sheen.
2. Gentle Home Wash (Only for Pure Mal Cotton / Plain Chanderi)
If the garment is made of soft Mal Cotton / Chanderi Cotton Blend and you choose to hand-wash it after initial dry cleans:
Cold Water Only: Fill a basin with cold water; hot or warm water will shrink the fabric.
Mild Detergent: Use a pH-neutral liquid detergent or baby shampoo. Avoid harsh detergent powders or bleach.
No Soaking or Scrubbing: Gently dip and swirl for 2–3 minutes. Do not rub the embroidered yoke, wring, or twist the fabric.
Drying: Do not hang while wet (gravity stretches thin weaves). Roll in a dry towel to absorb extra water, then lay flat to dry in the shade away from direct sunlight.
3. Ironing & Storage Instructions
| Action | Instruction |
| Ironing | Low-to-medium heat on the reverse side only. Place a thin cotton pressing cloth over the embroidered neck. Avoid steam directly on zari or sequence work. |
| Storage | Store wrapped in a breathable muslin or soft cotton cloth. Avoid plastic covers which trap moisture. |
